How Does A Roll Of Original Paper Become A4? Introduction To The Principle Of Automatic A4 Paper Cutting Machine

A4 paper you use to print and copy every day is actually cut from large rolls of original paper. From dozens of kilos of large paper rolls to full-size photocopies, the process is completed in minutes by fully automated paper cutter. Today we're going to take down this' industrial scissors"and see how it operates.
1, From pulp to large paper rolls
The story starts paper mill. Log fibres are pulped, papered, dried and rolled into large paper rolls (commonly known as "mother rolls") one to two metres in diameter and weighing hundreds of kilograms. The thickness of A4 paper is about 0.1 mm. By weight, a common 70g/m 2 copy paper can cut tens of thousands of sheets from a single roll.
The large roll itself isnot directly usable, is far wider than A4 paper and may have uneven edges. Before being sent to the paper-cutting process, mother roll often need to be "rolled back" and sorted, keeping the width of the paper to a suitable range, before being handed over to the paper cutter for processing.
2. Unwinding tension control: Stability is the first step.
The front end of the automatic paper cutter is the unwinding mechanism. paper roll is placed on an expansion shaft and is slowly rotated and released by an electric motor. The key technique here is * * tension control * *: the tape must be tight and not loosen or shake, otherwise subsequent cutting sizes will be skewed.
Modern equipment usually adopts closed-loop control of ``floating roller+tension sensor '', which monitors the tension of the tape in real time. The motor automatically adjusts the unwinding speed so that the tape enters the cutting area smoothly under constant tension and speed. Don't underestimate this step, it's the cornerstone of the machine's accuracy.
3. Vertical and horizontal cuts: one paper, two slices.
When the tape enters the processing area, it usually goes through two different cutting processes:
-Vertical cutting: (slitting circular knife to cut strips of paper along the direction of operation to obtain strips of paper the width of A4;
Transverse cutting knife is usually installed on high-speed rotary roll, the speed of the roll and the speed of the tape line is precisely synchronized. In the moment of cutting, a piece of paper formed with a snap. The set can be completed several times to more than 10 times per second, far more efficiently than manual labor.
The standard size of A4 paper is 210 × 297 mm, and the error is usually within ± 1 mm. To achieve this, it relies on precise mechanical structures and control algorithms
Through the encoder real-time feedback roll knife roller position, and driven by a servo motor, ensure that the roll position and the paper tape position strictly correspond;
-The blade is made of a high-hardness alloy and is ground regularly to ensure sharp edges and smooth cutting without burrs;
-Some high-end models also have automatic detection system that can adjust the feed speed in real time, allowing closed-loop correction if size deviation are detected.
Papercuts are not scattered on the floor, but are counted through an automated counting device, which is then automatically stacked and collected in a certain quantity (e.g., 500 copies per order). The photoelectric sensor or code wheel are counted once per page, and after counting, the paper is neatly stacked and sent by a paper push mechanism directly into the next packaging process.
That way, the entire process, from reeling to stacking finished paper, requires little human intervention, and one machine can handle the workload of more than 10 workers.
A4 paper is a ``large quantity, high standards, low prices' 'of consumables, extremely low profits, dependent on scale and efficiency. Fully automatic paper cutter sets up rolling, slitting, cutting, counting, stacking as one continuous production line, fast, waste the least, save time and effort, which is one of the reasons why photocopy paper prices are so low.
Next time you pull an A4 out of a drawer, think of it: behind it used to be a giant paper roll weighing hundreds of kilos, "cut" precisely to its present shape in a snarling paper cutter.
